Francesco Trevisani said he Romano, 1656-1746 was an Italian painter of the Rococo that was active in Rome.
He left very young to Venice, where became the pupil of Antonio Zanchi.
He also attended Giuseppe Heintz the young. He passed the baroque tendencies for simplified compositions, a more sober expression of feelings, delicate tones and a more functional use of light to serve as the representation. In Rome, he became one of the most important artists who continued in the wake of Carlo Maratta.
In the years 1690-1700, he was especially dedicated to the art of the miniature. Moreover, his portrait activity served as an example to Pompeo Batoni.
